Assistant State’s Attorney Ryan Blackney Gets Conviction for Internet Thief Jana Nelson

McHENRY COUNTY STATE’S ATTORNEY’S OFFICE OBTAINS 10 YEAR PRISON SENTENCE FOR WOMAN WHO STOLE FROM HER COMPANY

McHenry County State’s Attorney Louis A. Bianchi is pleased to announce that today Jana Nelson was sentenced to 10 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections for 2 counts of Theft, 8 counts of Forgery, 1 count of Online Theft by Deception in a case prosecuted by Assistant State’s Attorney Ryan Blackney.

Jana Nelson admitted guilt to stealing over $150,000 by forging business checks without authorization after being hired as a bookkeeper for Robert Pacifico and Associates, Inc., a Woodstock Architecture Firm.

Jana Nelson’s criminal acts wrought utter financial destruction on the now owner of Robert Pacifico and Associates, Emily Pacifico.

The sentence sends a strong message that financial crimes can have a real and significant impact on their victims, and will be prosecuted vigorously.
