A press release from Congressman Joe Walsh:

Congressman Walsh accepts Debate Invitation

SCHAUMBURG – Congressman Joe Walsh accepted Trinity Lutheran Church’s invitation to participate in a candidate forum at the Roselle, IL based 5,000 member Lutheran church before July 4th.

The aim of the forum is to bring both Republican Congressman Joe Walsh and his Democrat opponent, Tammy Duckworth, directly before voters in the 8th district to discuss the critical issues facing Americans.

Congressman Walsh stated,

“I am grateful and honored to have the opportunity to come before voters of the 8th district and have a real discussion on the very serious issues and problems facing this Nation.

“Tammy Duckworth believes that the path to prosperity in this Nation is through the government – I believe the path is through the people.

“I hope Ms. Duckworth will accept this invitation to get out in public and directly answer questions from voters instead of hiding behind emails, press releases and her special interest supporters.”

Walsh continued, “This election is critical for the direction of our Nation and it’s time to get serious about these issues.

“Talking directly to the people has always been a priority of mine.

“Our campaign is available in the next couple of weeks for whatever date the Pastor is available and any date Tammy decides she would like to talk about the issues.”

Congressman Walsh asked Tammy Duckworth to join him in monthly debates after she earned the Democratic nomination this March.

She has yet to accept the proposal.

  1. Churches have no business in the world of politics.

If they do, then they should pay unto Caesar.

  2. That a church has no business in world of politics is sophmoric.

How else can it gurantee itself the freedom guaranteed by our constitution?

I would expect the Catholic Church to become fully engaged.

  3. Maybe Truth and Maule should have a talk with the Rev. Jesse Jackson.

  4. Right on Fred.

What about Big Mouth Al Sharpton?

He should have paid unto to Caesar many times.

  5. Two wrongs don’t make a right.

Churches need to stay out of politics on both sides of the aisle.

The Catholic Church is facing a serious migration of its flock in the last 30 years.

    Any guess why?

As reported yesterday only 1 in 3 kids believe in God today.

Too many churches have gotten away from talking about good regardless of your walk of life.
With your analogy, Walsh should be jumping off the Brooklyn Bridge.
