Since Jim Harrison decided to run as an Independent, there is a two-way race for the Republican nomination for McHenry County Sheriff.

It’s between Undersheriff Andy Zinke–Sheriff Keith Nygren’s choice–and former Des Plaines Police Commander Bill Prim, who has live in Cary for the last two decades.

Zinke started the year with $21,632.70

He now has $19,545

  1. “How is Independent Jim Harrison faring?” in terms of campaign fundraising.

While he has a respectable nearly $12,000 in his coffers (including an A-1 filing on Monday), I think we see the real reason Harrison decided to run as an independent, given the Bill Prim fundraising success thanks to the Newt Gingrich funder.

We all know Zinke will receive a lion’s share of McHenry County donors once Sheriff Nygren starts leaning on them.

Expect Andy Zinke’s 2nd quarter financial to balloon now that the February/April elections are out of the way.

  2. Wow, Zinke is doomed.

It shows you the county is rejecting the thuggish behavior of the likes of Nygren, Lowery, and Zinke. The house needs to be cleaned.

    We have had enough.

I am amazed at the support for Prim
