SPRINGFIELD…..House Republican Leader Jim Durkin (R-Western Springs) today named State Representative Mike Tryon (R-Crystal Lake) as an Assistant Leader for the House Republican Caucus.

Tryon, a State Representative since 2005, will officially assume his new duties on November 1. “It’s such an honor to be chosen for this position of responsibility,” said Tryon.

“I’m looking forward to having a seat at the table where I can help drive the Republican Caucus agenda for the House of Representatives.”

According to Durkin, Tryon was chosen because of his expertise in the areas of transportation and environmental science, as well as for his ongoing dedication toward improving transparency in government.

“Mike Tryon was an easy choice for Assistant Leader, because he is very well-respected on both sides of the aisle for his expertise in many different areas,” said Durkin.

“He has a reputation for thoroughly researching all of the key bills that are debated in Springfield and his input will be valuable as we set our new agenda for the House Republicans.”

Tryon is the ranking Republican and Spokesperson for the Mass Transit, Energy and Environment Committees, and also serves on the Executive and Business Growth & Incentives Committees. In addition to his regular committee assignments, Tryon is one three House Republicans who serve on the bi-partisan, bi-cameral Commission on Government Forecasting and Accountability (CGFA). CGFA provides the Legislature with research and information regarding state and national economies, revenue projections and operations of Illinois Government.

Joining Tryon on the House Republican leadership team are Deputy Leaders Patti Bellock (R-Hinsdale) and David Leitch (R-Peoria), Conference Chair Mike Bost (R-Carbondale), and Assistant Leaders Dan Brady (R-Normal), Chad Hays (R-Danville), Bill Mitchell (R-Decatur), JoAnn Osmond (R-Gurnee) and Dennis Reboletti (R-Addison).

  1. How about pushing that legislation I suggested to get the toxins out of Illnois’ water supply?

  2. Clueless is as clueless does.

Poster boy for the failed Republican party in Illinois.

  3. Another Repub. Promoted from cleaning the Dems. Bathrooms, to shining Madigans shoes. Congrats.

But now that he has a “seat at the table”, his largest campaign contributer Ameren, will be put on notice to start increasing that donation.

We in turn will pay for it on our utility bills.

    Thanks for that ‘yes’ vote.

  4. How about creating and enforcing term limits in Illinois? Maybe if we had less elected officials worried about getting reelected, something good would get done.

Most people are clueless about the people they keep voting into office.

Some sweet faced “boy” candidate smiles a lot and suddenly he gets the win.

Republicans, Democrats, Independents, etc. are responsible for the people in DC who are destroying this country and it all starts in the small elections back home.
