In a handout prepared for a November 12, 2012, Township Officials Boot Camp by Keri-Lyn Krafthefer and Tiffany Nelson-Jaworski that question is answered as follows:
My interpretation is that the only thing keeping a board members from disclosing what occurs in a peer pressure.secret meeting (executive session) is peer pressure.
I, likewise, have never been able to find a statutory prohibition against Illinois officials telling the public about closed session discussions.
Nevertheless, only rarely could I get one to do so and, even then, it was always “off the record”.
This goes on in Greenwood Township ALL THE TIME!
