Tribune’s AJ Story Brings Up Parents’ Legal Problems

Although readers of McHenry County Blog comments under stories about the missing five-year old AJ Freund have been able to read about the legal problems of his Crystal Lake parents, in the story below, published online by the Chicago Tribune and top right on the front page Tuesday, there is some exploration of the subject:

  1. What a pair of jacked-up people father Andrew Freund and mother JoAnn Cunningham are.

If I were little AJ, I would want to run away, too, given the history of his parents and how they met.

The father is old enough to be his grandfather (60), and the mother is young enough to be the father’s daughter (36).

This isn’t Sister-Sister arrangement, the characters played by Tim Reid and Jackee’ were respectable and genuinely not romantically involved, in spite of their living arrangements.

And this suspended attorney (Freund) was busted 5 years ago on some petty theft?

And they’ve never been married, and they live together (but no longer romantically involved and sleep in separate bedrooms-starting to wonder who AJ’s, Preston’s and baby #3 real father(s) are and if police/FBI need to start talking to them).

May DCFS fight to keep the younger brother, Preston, in protective custody.

I pray for AJ being found.

Whether he should be sent back to that home-life?

May God provide direction to the decision makers.

  2. Way back when we were still praying/hoping for a miracle, I said the previous comment above where I said:

“And they’ve [Andrew Freund, Sr. and JoAnn Cunnhingham] never been married, and they live together (but no longer romantically involved and sleep in separate bedrooms-starting to wonder who AJ’s, Preston’s and baby #3 real father(s) are…”

And today’s Northwest Herald says the the paternity of AJ’s younger brother Preston must be confirmed. I’m sure they will do the same for baby #3 when it’s born. The article does say a separate petition to place the unborn child into protective custody would need to be filed when he/she is born:

May God have mercy on Preston and his soon-to-be-born younger sibling.
