From State Rep. Suzanne Ness:

Ness Highlights Infrastructure Improvement Projects Commencing in McHenry County

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – State Rep. Suzanne Ness, D-Crystal Lake, is highlighting multiple road improvement projects in McHenry County that are underway.

“Neglected infrastructure compromises residents’ safety and hinders convenience for Illinois drivers,” said Ness.

“The historic Rebuild Illinois plan has already successfully improved several infrastructure projects throughout the state, and I am thrilled to see the continued investment in projects in McHenry County.”

Ness is highlighting four road improvement projects that are scheduled in McHenry County.

These projects include U.S. 20 (Grant Highway) from Union Rd. to south of Marengo Beck Rd. and at Marengo and Beck Rd. to South Union Rd. at Deerpath Rd., Illinois 47 over the Kishwaukee River, Illinois 47 from Price Rd. to north of Ware Rd. and Illinois 176 at Nish Rd. For more information or for full descriptions of the scheduled projects, individuals can visit https://idot.illinois.gov/about-idot/stay-connected/news-releases/index.

These projects were part of the Rebuild Illinois Capital Program, which was a bipartisan package of bills passed and signed into law in 2019. The plan is to make $45 billion in improvements in all Illinois transportation, including roads and bridges, transit, waterways, freight and passenger rail, aviation, and bicycle and pedestrian accommodations.

“Investing in our infrastructure is an investment in our community, improving the lives of residents, creating high-paying jobs and bolstering economic development throughout the region.” said Ness. “I am proud to have helped pass a responsible, balanced budget that will ensure funding for future critical infrastructure projects, and I will continue to advocate for resources we need to keep our roads, bridges and other critical structures updated and safe in the 66th district and throughout the State of Illinois.”

  1. All un-necessary projects when there is more important issues at hand… spend spend spend.. its just FREE money now isn’t it..

  2. I can only guess that people fleeing the State, have complained to their friends that remain, that the roads are crap.
