Marengo Staff Recommends a One Percentage Point Sale Tax Hike Referendum, Following Harvard’s Example

An analysis by an outside firm, Applied Pavement hired by the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning, states that the quality of Marengo’s streets is not so good.

At the bottom of the “poor category,” in fact.

More money is needed.

City staff makes this recommendation for Monday’s Council meeting:

Former staff calculated that would bring in about $41,000 a year.
