In McHenry County Board District 1, there is a three-way Republican primary race.

Incumbent Robert Nowak, elected from Cary, but now living in Lake in the Hills, is being challenged by Fox River Grove’s Andrew Gasser and David M. Stieper of Barrington Hills.

Gasser reports having $5,441.67 in the bank, having raised $3,000 in the last three months of 2013.

Stieper, who previously ran for his village’s board, reported $219.67 in that fund at the end of the year with no money raised during the quarter.

Nowak did not file a report, meaning that he has collected less than $5,000.

Gasser’s contributions which are reported by name follow:

  • $2,500 – David McSweeney for State Representative, Barrington
  • $250 – Patrice Owens-Gutierre, Crystal Lake
  • $250 – Thomas Zaleski, Sedona, AZ 8

Democratic Party incumbent Nick Chirikos had accumulated $1,968.32 as of the end of 2013.

His only contributor of more than $150 was Fox River Grove’s Chester Olencheck, who gave $200.
