  1. All the taxing bodies rates per hundred thou would be interesting to know.

Cal do you have that info?

  2. The County Clerk does not calculate them until just before the tax bills are calculated.

When I have the time, I compare the amounts levied by tax districts, rather than the rates.

  3. The notice says seventeen percent (20.5%).

Does that error make it invalid?

Is the large increase because if the Stonewater subdivision?

Has the new growth been that high, that they are actually going to see an increase of 17% or 20.5% or is the overall amount going to be less and they are publishing this amount because one particular fund will be that high of a percentage increase?

  4. It tops out at 5% correct?

Doesn’t 70% of all McHenry County property taxes go to the school districts in their area?

  5. Sweet Mother of Pearl…

    LOL @ all of Illinois.

The frogs are in the pot and the water is boiling.

Has Algonquin Township and the Highway Department posted their proposed tax rates yet?

  6. Some Call it Wonder-Tucky.

Remember the phrase “GROWTH PAYS” ? 🥳

    Should be who pays

  7. Col. Gasser, can you come back to McH Co?

    The suffering taxpayers need you.

Algonquin has gone really crooked again!

    The stench is overpowering!

  8. Cosyntex – I retired a USAF Captain.

My time in office in McHenry County is done. However, maybe you could run. You should at least do a robocall over the entire county calling out this craziness. Get the normies attention.

I really feel for Cary residents. Between 155, 26, the village, the township, the road district, the park district, the county, and the college; they are getting screwed.

Every taxing body is raising taxes.

Lower and middle class people simply cannot afford to live in McHenry County.

Y’all need new folks who will tell the bureaucracy no.

  9. But Gasser sits pretty in Alabama, far from the madding crowd of crooks.

  10. This is in fact related to Stonewater increasing EAV by virtue of building new homes.

Recapturing new EAV by requesting a ONE TIME left increase to account for the new EAV is a completely common process.

Furthermore, This will almost certainly continue to occur annually (at the advisement of the Village Attorney and at the discretion of the Village Board members).

It’s a shame that fear tactics are employed so often to scare people into thinking this is somehow “screwing” them.

Please help educate people so they understand how the system works.
