Jack Franks Still Running for State Rep. – Part 14

The Woodstock Independent trusts Jack Franks’ word.

Jack Franks told the Woodstock Independent that he was not going to run for State Representative this fall.

Jack Franks told the Woodstock Independent that he was not going to run for State Representative this fall.

With no evidence but Jack Franks’ word, the paper included the following:

“Franks’ withdrawal from the General Assembly race leaves the ballot spot open until the Democratic Party of McHenry County selects a candidate to run against Republican nominee Steven Reick of Woodstock.’ [Emphasis added.]

Franks has not withdrawn from the race.

Even though Sunday, May 15th, the only reporter at the Democratic Party slating caucus, Pete Gonigam, reported,

“Franks qualified that saying he’d give up the Rep. race if the Committee can pick another candidate who’s both ‘electable’ and holds a political outlook consistent with his own.”

To withdraw, Franks has to file a form with the State Board of Elections, which he has not done, as one can see below:

The small print says no one has so far withdrawn from the November ballot.

Jack Franks Still Running for State Rep. – Part 14 — 3 Comments

  1. The Illinois State Board of Elections website as of right now reflects Jack Franks has not withdrawn as a candidate for Democrat 63rd State Representative.

So he is officially running as a candidate for both that office and McHenry County Board Chair as of today.

He may not drop out of either race.

If he wins both races, against Republicans Steve Reick and Mike Walkup, respectively, then someone will be appointed to one of those positions?

Who are the top 5 Democrats for both positions, other than Jack Franks?

Maybe if he wins both, he remains a State Representative to maximize his General Assembly Retirement System (GARS) pension.

Would that not be a joke on the newly created elected board chair position if Franks wins both and a Democrat was appointed McHenry County Board Chair and that person works to reduce the number of elected county board members and committees in an attempt to give any elected Democrat County Board members more power (there are currently no Democrat County Board members).

The Illinois State Board of Elections website can be checked daily for updates if Franks has withdrawn as a State Representative candidate by clicking on “More Election Information” on the home page under “Next Election Tuesday November 8͵ 2016 General election,” then “View Filed Candidates” on the following page, then “Latest Candidates Withdrawn” on the following page.

  2. Lying DEMOCRAT Jack Franks who said he wouldn’t run for more than three terms is now running for two offices at the same time.

Doesn’t get much better than this.

  3. http://www.elections.state.il.us > Next Election Tuesday, November 8, 2016 GENERAL ELECTION More Election Information > View Filed Candidates > Latest Candidates Withdrawn.

    No candidates are listed.

Thus Jack Franks still has not withdrawn as a candidate for Democrat State Representative, 63rd State Representative District.

What day was it the newspapers were under the impression based on information from Jack Franks, that Jack Franks had withdrawn as a candidate for Democrat State Representative, 63rd State Representative District?

Even though Jack Franks issued an “if” “but” “wait there’s more” “listen carefully” “strings attached” statement.

That the press did not prominently report.

That being he’s withdrawn but if an electable replacement candidate is not found then …..?

Now how likely is it Jack Franks and Michael Madigan have not thought that decision through carefully.
